Lumetics was responsible for the generation of two posters publications in 2015: Analytical Technique Comparisons using LINK and Application of LINK for Automated Stability Studies. Both publications outline the impact that LINK software has on the automating the data management process.
Transcribing, aggregating, and comparing data from multiple measurements with different size ranges, resolutions, and output formats is very labor intensive. Recent advancements in data management and visualization technologies now allow for automated data extraction directly from analytical equipment measurement files. It also allows for automated processing of this data for detailed orthogonal and complimentary technique comparisons as well as real-time stability study reporting.

Analytical Technique Comparisons using LINK

Characterization and control of protein aggregation requires the use of a wide range of analysis techniques. LINK was used to automatically transcribe measurement data directly from equipment measurement files into a centralized database. Sample information exemplifying a typical stability study, such as storage time point and storage temperature, were parsed from each data file. LINK analysis templates for the purpose of technology comparisons were constructed and updated in real-time with each data import.
It was found that the LINK data management and analysis tool provided direct comparison of orthogonal and complimentary analytical techniques in a fully automated fashion, dramatically improving the speed of analysis and eliminating the possibility of transcription errors.
Application of LINK for Automated Stability Studies

Stability studies often involve a wide range of analysis techniques utilized across a broad range of time points and stress conditions. Parsing scripts were written so LINK will automatically transcribe measurement data directly from equipment measurement files into the LINK centralized database. Measurement data files were stored on networked folders and the software as configured to import data into the database automatically at a fixed frequency. Sample information including time point, storage temperature, and stress condition were also parsed from each data file automatically from the file path measurement comments field. Analysis templates (specific chart/table/image processing requests) were constructed, capable of updating in real-time with each data import. Finally, a reporting engine was constructed allowing for report export to PDF or spreadsheet tile formats.
It was found that through application of the LINK data management and analysis tool, stability study summaries may be automatically produced and updated as data generated by the requisite analytical equipment. After a one-time setup of the project and analysis template dashboards, new measurement data files from the different instruments were automatically imported and processed from networked PCs at a fixed frequency with dashboard and report data automatically updated, delivering real-time analysis and trending of results. The automated data importation, processing, reporting, and export capabilities led to time savings in excess of 97%.
