Lumetics LINK™ facilitates automated data flow by connecting instrument-generated data, processed results, and metadata to ELN/LIMS systems such as Spotfire and Tableau through LINK API integration and database exports. This integration enables real-time access and standardized reporting across the lab ecosystem.
LINK API connects instruments, ELNs, and LIMS systems to enable fully automated data flow across your lab ecosystem. Data is captured and sent directly into LINK, key actions—like project creation and report generation—can be triggered automatically, and results are instantly accessible in real time.
Eliminate manual data entry while accelerating workflows and turnaround times, all while reducing errors and improving data integrity. With seamless integration across instruments, ELN, and LIMS systems, LINK connects your entire lab into one unified, efficient platform.
The LINK API enables end-to-end automation of data workflows, including project creation, automated data ingestion with metadata mapping, and comprehensive data extraction at multiple levels (raw, processed, and summarized). It supports retrieval of tabular results, full and binned curve data, and structured visualization outputs, as well as automated generation of reports in Word or PDF based on defined analysis templates.
All project data, grouped and averaged according to the Analysis Template’s dashboard configuration and chart display settings, can be accessed via a URL connection to the LINK server. This URL can be generated directly from the LINK client or created manually as needed. Below is an example of a histogram chart generated in LINK, along with a sample of the API response data returned.

The LINK Database Export functionality enables structured extraction of processed and raw project data into external database systems for downstream analysis, reporting, and integration. Data can be exported in a consistent, query-ready format that preserves analysis context, including sample metadata, calculated parameters, and aggregated results defined by the Analysis Template. This allows organizations to seamlessly connect LINK with enterprise data platforms, supporting centralized data storage, advanced analytics, and long-term data traceability across laboratory workflows. The ability to query the LINK database and export results either to XLSX files or to a direct database connection.
Database export enables LINK data to be moved into external databases where it can be accessed, analyzed, and shared across systems. It improves data accessibility, supports advanced analytics and reporting, enhances consistency and traceability, and enables seamless integration with enterprise platforms like LIMS, ELN, and data lakes.
The XLSX Export option is typically used when users want to query the LINK database and export results directly into an Excel (.xlsx) format for further analysis or reporting. All LINK Record IDs returned in the search results are automatically applied to measurement summary table templates within the LINK software, ensuring consistent, structured output.
This option is used when users need to query the LINK database and export results through a direct database connection. LINK exports data to a Lumetics-provided database, which can be directly queried and managed by the end user. This approach enables seamless downstream integration, allowing exported data to be readily consumed by platforms such as LIMS, ELNs, Spotfire, and Tableau. All LINK Record IDs returned in search results are applied to measurement summary table templates within the LINK™ software to ensure structured and consistent outputs.
